Procedures of Terrace Waterproofing

Surface Preparation

Clean the construction joints by raking to remove any loose concrete.
Drill holes and insert nozzles into the construction joints, then patch the joints using a mixture of cement and sand mortar.
Grout the fixed nozzles with a cement slurry mixed with a non-shrink polymeric grouting compound.
Ensure the RCC substrate is thoroughly cleaned of oil, grease, and any loosely adhering particles.

Coating

Dampen the RCC substrate by sprinkling water.
Apply two coats of a cement-based polymer/acrylic modified highly flexible waterproof coating, ensuring the subsequent coat is applied after the previous coat is touch dry as per the literature.
Lay glass fiber mesh between the two coats to provide additional tensile strength to the cementitious coating.
Follow the second coat with a third coat once the second coat is touch dry.

Protective Layer

Apply a 20 mm thick protective layer consisting 1:4:: Cement : Sand mortar admixed with Integral Waterproofing compound at 1-1.5 kg per bag of cement where the RCC has the slope for draining off water. To make the adequate slope by PCC.
